My Reflection 2015 This year has been an amazing term, with heaps of activities and trips, My favourite Trip was Rainbow’s end I feel happy about this year and Term because We have heaps to do before the end of the year. Maths was difficult for me but I have Experienced so Much this year. I wasn't great so id give myself a 7/10 because I just need to understand a few thing to learn. I hopefully want to be a lot better in 2016 because intermediate would be harder, And more frustrating!!! I want to be better at Maths And My writing, Before 2016 so I can get a good grade this would be my goal. Team 5 had an amazing Term with the Team 5 Teachers, And we all have learned a lot, The year 8s would be going to college at the end of this year. And the year 7s would now be year 8s. This was a Rough year also Exhausting But it was a fantastic Journey. Reading was one of my favourite subjects that I enjoyed. Hopefully 2016 would be better!!!

Stanza- Poem

Today My Group Keis and May made a Stanza meaning a poem. We had to write a stanza about this

 When I came back I saw such a mess I was depressed I kicked my desk As I walked to the window there were ants crawling on my pants I whacked them off and started looking around the door was on the floor I tried to ignore all the pain again that was going through my head. On the wall was a stall with heaps of cats and dead rats

 I was about to spew. I took a deep breath but it was still in my head. I turned on the lights but the switch didn't work. I felt depressed so I took another breath. I went outside and smelt the fresh air I got some cleaning gear and went back into the Room. The smell wasn't great I had to call my mate. Why was this happening to me? It's time to get a crate.

Google Expedition

Today we Learned about Google Expedition here is my creative Learning. I hope you enjoy!!! and Learn many things on my blog!!!!! 

Today was an Adventurous day. We went in our usual groups. Each group went in their class until we changed. We experienced in the street Google expedition. Do you know what  this means? Well it is what we learned today you look into these 3D blurry goggles called Google cardboard. Don’t worry they don’t make you blind!!! there’s a phone in the cardboard and you can see images of Space the Jungle and even Antarctica.

My favourite image was in the ocean seeing many things you can spot. What I saw was there were people in the ocean in a shark cage “That gave me a fright” when I saw a humongous shark. I felt scared when I saw a snake right in front of me. Luckily it was an image.

It was time to change groups. I had fun exploring things I haven’t before. Seeing animals from different countries was a new thing to learn.

A Trip To Rainbows End

 Today The year 7’s had an amazing Trip to Rainbows End we were split up into groups My Group was Ava, Owen, Aidan and Me Team 5 quickly headed in lines toward the bus. We arrived at 9:30 everyone was amazed and excited I was exhausted walking off the bus. We got our bands to go in. We all now had a chance to go and play around in our groups before time runs out. These were all the things we did!!! First The 3D video thing, The Racing cars, the Bumper boats one of my favourites. Gold mine the Scorpion ride and the Log Flume and the Pirate ship We had not much time. The Log flume was our last ride I enjoyed it. My photos were embarrassing I never knew they had cameras!!! We went back to school getting ready to go home. I felt Really tired after all of this. But we all had a great time!!!

 A Time with friends

It’s Tuesday today” as I checked the time it was 8:15 I quickly headed to school thinking if my friends came to school too. I saw on whiteboard what Would happen after morning tea. Fun time?? I wondered. It was after morning tea we were in groups. I saw Rowana, and Juliet as I breathed in relief. I didn’t want to be by myself. All classes split up all groups I was in a different group though. All groups got one cardboard each. It had a timetable on it where we go next. We all lined up Mrs Flavell's arrived we all Followed Mrs Flavells past the breeze  in a line. The Cookie Challenge” Mrs Flavell Explained how to play the game. “You all get a cookie each and put it on your forehead the hard thing is try to get it in your mouth.

We all went in 5 groups on each side at a time. I saw everyone laugh and cheered on the other Students. I felt like there was a knot in my stomach I felt confused for a while. Some students got points for getting it in there mouth you also get to go again only if you get it in your mouth!!!  if you drop the cookie you have to get at the back of the line.

Next was a game called peas. What you have to do Ms Hockley explained we all got a straw each. we have to try get the pea on your straw and run as fast as you can towards the plate. Everyone had different ideas that were interesting. We quickly rotated to our next class. We were doing the weetbix challenge with Ms Ingram. Miss Peato mixed spaghetti with fruit salad and maple syrup.

After That

we went to this challenge it was like a puzzle

Last of all we lined up in the street One of the best was the cookie challenge. This would be one of favourites of the day!!!

Immersion Assembly

On Friday Last week we Had an Immersion assembly meaning for each term there's a New Topic Our school is learning about survivors. How animals adapt. Also how the're extinct Here is My writing of all interesting things we did at assembly. I hope you enjoy!!!! (:


 It was Term four. All of the Pt England students had Immersion assembly this means a new item for term 4. we went at 9.00 in the morning. We all sat down in the hall waiting for Mr Burt to speak. “The new topic for the school is... as Mr Burt said. Survivors we learnt what adapt was “how animals survive on their own like using camouflage. Mr Burt showed us a quick video of a fiapoko bird meaning how annoying it was and how people would easily get annoyed.

 Team 1 learnt about the species of a Dinosaur and how dinosaurs were extinct they also had a karaoke competition. Team 2,3 were also learning about dinosaurs and facts about them which was cool teachers had created their own dinosaur name. One was called Raptosaurus and the other was called disco saurus. Team 4 were learning about animals and Habitats and how they survive. Mr Goodwin showed a video they made. They had to guess what place there in like the jungle and what animal was behind them. I found the video quite funny.


 It was now Team 5 the last team Learning how to Adapt Mrs Clark, Ms Peato, Ms Hockley Mr Wiseman and other teachers had an eating challenge which was the fastest eater. But they had to use chopsticks. I think Ms Clark would win because she’s been practising when she was little. I enjoyed Team 5, 4 Because they were one of the funniest. And there were heaps of Laughter. What a Funny Assembly!!!

Today we had to make a Recount of something Missing. This is my Recount I have posted today about my missing bag that had a new Samsung laptop. I hope you enjoy!!!

A time my bag went missing….

First

I was up late in the morning because I couldn't sleep at all!!! I felt Exhausted but in a happy mood at the same time Rushing as i was getting ready. I was still at home thinking that I would be late. I grabbed my bag and put my new Samsung laptop That my Mum bought for me in the weekends on Saturday.

It was 8:15am I ran as fast as i could. Only 5 more houses pass I said in my head. I heard a group of kids talking about laptops and playing games. The bell started to ring. I just made it in time “Phew I didn't want to miss assembly” I hung my bag on the hook “Wait my zip is open”  every student saw that I had another new  laptop I shouldn't of said that. “Quick! the Teacher told me to hurry up. I saw one of the students lock up the classrooms but didn't recognize the student wearing a jacket even though he wasn't suppose too what am i supposed to do? I’m not a Teacher to tell him off. anyway I’ll zip up my bag up later. I headed towards the school hall.

It was 10:00 we all went back to class when I noticed something odd My bag was Missing? I checked everywhere I quickly told the teacher she started checking all students bag But some kids were gone when they checked the list that had all the names. That’s weird? some kids were not here one of the teachers checked the security cameras. They saw a student but the student was wearing a jacket but the teachers said. I think they just wanted the laptop but if I won’t find My laptop my Mum will get frustrated. Wait as I thought i sat down thinking about the last student who locked the classrooms. I looked at each student suspiciously. when I remembered the group of students that were talking about it. I felt like a Detective I ran outside and saw the same group of kids looking around they saw me and ran off I knew it I chased them down the roads trying to keep my breath. They all split up. 

My bag looked empty when I saw a student running with it I will have to chase the other student carrying another bag maybe they're just trying to trick me. I caught the person stuck. I took my netbook in the bag there were heaps so I just took the whole bag the student ran off but the teachers just arrived. Luckily we knew who the student was one of best friends. I felt angry but relieved how could a friend ever do this as I walked back to class.

Talking points

Our literacy class have been learning about having a group discussion and agree/disagree of what the persons thinking of. Example school should finish at 1am would you agree or disagree and why?

Being Cyber Smart on Phones

Today with Miss Kyla we learnt how to be cyber smart on our mobile phone. Which means being smart on our phone. Here is my Google drive with all the information on being cyber smart with phones.

Explanation Writing

Today in literacy class we are writing an Explanation on how to prevent yourself from sick. This means staying healthy and getting rid of nasty germs heading towards you. And causing you and others getting sick from invading germs. Here is My explanation of getting it all away.

How to prevent yourself from getting sick: CRAFT

Remember the S.E.E structure.

S	Statement - Use a sentence starter to state a cause - To prevent yourself from getting sick you...
e	Explain - Define the cause - this means . . .
e	Evidence/Example - explain the effect of the cause - if you do that then . . .

Title What is your Explanation about?	How to prevent yourself from getting sick.
Introduction What are you going to explain?  Why is it important for us to pay attention to what you have to say?	We are learning about how to prevent yourself from getting sick. If you want to learn how to stay healthy keep on reading.
Paragraph One What is the first way you we can prevent yourself from getting sick?  How does that prevent people getting sick?	One of the easiest ways of staying healthy is eating a balanced range of food. This means eating from the 5 food groups with a focus on fruits and vegetables. If you do that then your body will receive all the nutrients it needs to be in the best condition to fight off invading germs.
Paragraph Two What is the second way we can prevent yourself from getting sick? How does that prevent people getting sick?	Another way to from staying healthy is to wash your hands frequently This means Washing your hands with soap for 2 or 3 minutes. This also means drying your hands thoroughly until their dry. If you do that then you’ll have no more nasty germs spreading.
Paragraph Three What is the third way you can prevent yourself from getting sick?  How does that prevent people getting sick	A final way to prevent yourself from getting sick is to not shake hands with a sick person. This means trying to avoid shaking hands with That sick person. Instead you should  give them a thumbs up or greet them in a nice way. If you do this you'll stop the germs spreading. And won’t get you sick.
Conclusion The conclusion sums up all the ideas and repeats a key message to end.  This could be a recommendation or a personal connection.	If you follow these rules on how to prevent yourself from getting sick you will stay healthy and strong.  It may also stop you from going to the doctors. I hope you all manage to stay healthy and live a long happy life without germs.

Diane and Jimmy wanted a real tree for Christmas this year. They wanted their house filled with the smell of a pine forest, and they thought real trees looked better than fake ones. Not far from where they lived, Mr Bain grew a few small pine trees. They made a plan.

Under the cover of darkness they set out carrying a torch and a handsaw. Before long they had what they had come for. Holding one end each they headed for home. They were almost back at their own gate when they were caught in the glare of a car’s tights. It was Mr Bain's car and it was coming slowly up the road.

To their relief he drove on by.

a. What was their plan? Stealing Mr Bains Christmas tree.

b. Why were they relieved? Because they nearly got caught .

ITEM 3 VET CHECK “The cat's been sick again,” reported Cindy. “That's the third time this week. Something's not right. But at least she's still eating her meals.”

The large cat was now sleeping in a patch of sunlight on the floor. “I don't think she's dying," said George, “but We’ll take her to the vet to check.” "No, it's not normal,” the vet told them. “Leave her with me and I'll find out what's wrong."

They went back the next day, fearing the worst. He had checked the cat for everything he could think of. He’d taken blood tests and given x-rays.

“There is a serious problem,” the vet said.

They stood quite still. “You have a greedy cat. She eats far too much. Take her home and only feed her once a day."

a. Why was the cat sick? Because she was eating far too much.

b. Why did they stand still? to know what the problem was.

Yesterday the whole Pt england students were having a Immersion Assembly. Because holidays had finished and “school was back again!!!

We all headed towards the hall and sat down. Mr Burt had a auction which was selling stuff like chocolate,Cool Rugby balls and many more. We had a new topic for the school which was called Trade and Enterprise. About using your money wisely and saving it on something you need not what you want and that's really cheap.

We had Teams that had to make a movie and act it out. It was Funny” They spent it on Markets, shops and groceries.

We all laughed and enjoyed the videos that we watched.We also had a quiz to win a ice cream. And they threw Chocolate money everywhere!!!

We watched team 4 The teachers Dressed up and acted Bob had emotions which was Extra happy, Calm, and Sassy. It was Really Funny. We all enjoyed  all of the videos we watched. We watched team 5. Mr Barks was dressed like the mum and. Mr Wiseman was acting like the son. It was really funny. Mostly all of them were.

Later on We headed back to class back to our learning Before morning tea.

My Weekends

Today I wrote about what I did in the Weekends on Saturday I hope you Enjoy Reading.

At 6.00 On Saturday  Me My sister And brother Got Ready For My Uncle’s Birthday. My Mum Picked us up. We arrived On time To help Set out the chocolates and lollies. It looked Awesome there were flashing lights and disco lights with LOUD” Music and a Table With All cups straws and Little umbrella’s with ice too. It was for the drinks and they put the barbeque on.

We Signed the Card and Put 60 Dollars in because didn’t know what to buy. Everyone Arrived on time and They all were in the shed talking. We all looked around everything was decorated. It was Decorated with Hawaii things. dinner was ready we finished eating. Everyone turned off the lights and light the candles on the cake.

He blew out the candles after we sang Happy Birthday to Him

We ate some cake until our stomach was stuffed. It was getting dark and it was getting late we said GoodBye after we danced our way to the car and went home.

Three Special Visitors

We saw Three Special Visitors That Taught Us a lot! I hope you enjoy Reading!!!

Today We had some special Visitors One was an artist named  Marcus Winter Which was a Sand Artist. And Louis Gordon Latty. A Professional  basketball player , And our Last Visitor was Andrew Patterson. Who was a very special person.We all Sat Down Quietly waiting for Mr Burt. Mr Burt was talking about how great these Visitors are. Everyone was Excited!  Here is our special Guest Marcus winter”. Everyone was cheering” and clapping! as He walked to the front.

We all watched carefully as he started talking He said back in Primary he was a slow writer And he always was the last to finish. And he went on the streets by burger king Making Awesome pictures with Sand.  We all were inspired of his art and His creativity. Then He Told us to Stand up. What? I said  Like I was lost. Then He turned on the Music. Marcus Told us To dance like him We all followed until  We got it. It Looked a bit “funny!!!

Then Marcus was finished and He sat back down in his chair. Mr Burt introduced us to Louis Gordon Latty. Everyone Clapped” When He went Up to the front. Hello”  As He waved!  Hello” as we said back He showed us a Basketball Video And we all Watched It. It was an amazing video. He started Talking About when He really Loved basketball . And He Practised When he was young. And to never Give up” We all  Clapped When He went And Then Andrew Patterson Taught Us about  Not Letting yourself down always Keep on going And it will help develop the mind  and teach you the mistake you did from the past!!!

WOW! As we all Started watching They were finished. The Prefects Said A Quick Thank You And gave them Chocolates. They All Smiled as We all Went back To class!!!

Technology With Mr Burt

After Lunch Time The Year 7's and 8's went into the street. It was Mr Burt. Mr Burt was telling us about The world war Which was Really Important. We all sat down in our lines watching carefully at the screen. Mr Burt was talking about Technology and the war. And His grandfather Joined The War.

Also Mrs Flavels  Grandfather Who was a soldier like Mr Burt's Grandfather.

Then After he finished He was talking about what things they had back in the days. A Bicycle He Said it looked Really Funky Compared to now. He was talking about the air planes they had too! Which was cool. He started to show us that the soldiers when they digged holes before the war. And started to dig deep and cover themselves and stay in there until the war ends. He showed us some photos of before and after the war began. Some of the soldiers would drown in the mud. 

We looked and saw a photo of a horse riding and at the back was a car connected because they couldn't start the car The Bell Began to Ring and Mr Burt Was Finished.

Anzac Thoughts and Feelings

This is My Writing about my feeling of the soldiers who died for us! Here is My Writing That I have Written for them.


 As I looked and stared at the Memorial I thought about what they did back in the days. I started to think about when they’re getting ready for war. Which made me sad. I suddenly felt happy when they all stopped. But a lot died for us. When we walked back to class I started staring at the memorial. Trying to see all the names before we left. I was thinking of sadness that they had. It was hard for them and their families. After we went in class I was thinking about things that made me sad about them injured. And probably their families waiting to see them. We started Writing but I was still thinking how hard it would be waking up really early and Men forcing them to do something for them. And to push themselves to do what they’re told to do.

Anzac Food Boost Morale

In our Zeal Zone Groups we did Cooking. And We Researched and Made a Presentation about how to make Anzac Biscuits. I hope you enjoy Our Presentation we made! Also we gave some to the Office And they said this was probably the best batch! I'll make more someday!!!

In The Staff

On Thursday at school was the polyfest. Everyone went except for Me Melaia,Trinity,Shelford and Mohamad. We went with Tito to finish off our hyperstudio Hokulea stack. At Morning tea we quickly ate our lunch and went to the staff to see if the staff needed help. When we got there Miss Flavels told us  what we had to do in the staff. I had to stick yellow tape on the juniors book and we had to look for the peoples name on the paper and write their room number.

It was lunch time we ate in Mrs Kings room that was our class for today. I heard myself get called at the office because I had to help Miss Tamatia with Lunches a lot of the junior block ordered pizza bread so I went to the village to get there orders right I hope I did I said in my head I ran back to do more. until I finished I asked if they needed help it was finished so I came back as the bell rang it was home time

Polyfest 2015

Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, faakalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!!  It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific.  This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!  Part of the celebration is the Polyfest!  This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages.  The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.  Did you know that this event - the Polyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning?  Awesome isn’t it!  Everyone comes to celebrate kapa haka and many other groups .There's food you can buy and many different cultures you can see.

it's fun that you can see many cultures and try there foods. Tamaki and there family's are participating in the wonderful events there's even clothes you could buy from another country and taste there sweets.

First day at school

here is what i did on my first day

When I woke up I quickly got dressed for school and when I arrived I saw kids excited. Isn’t it cool to be a year 7. I went to line up to go to the hall to see what class i’m in. Everyone was here so Mr Burt My Principal came in and started talking to us what class we would be in. Then we went in the senior block and went inside I was in class 5. Our Teacher was Miss Peato. It was FUN being here it was so different I still miss my old Teachers to.

The Teachers started Telling us about them it was cool then we started learning. RING RING RING By 11 it was morning tea everyone was getting hungry so we started eating inside “YUM”

Then we started doing Art that’s one of the things i like we started drawing and then when we were finished we had to colour it in. It was hard School was nearly finished so we sat down and waited till the bell rang yay it did that was the best first day at school.
